Lauren and Logan have their date set for a November 10, 2018, wedding at the Wimbish House with a vision of city life meets southern charm. Their engagement session by Bre Sessions through Piedmont Park captures this vision perfectly, and we can’t get enough of hearing about their wedding details. Read on for a look behind this couple’s love story, wedding plannings, and engagement shoot.

How did you meet? We met in 2008 during our freshman year of college at Kennesaw State University. We were in a theatre and performance class together and were placed in the same group for a project. The project was to assign roles and write a play from start to finish, which we would have to perform at the end of the semester as our final exam. As roles were being assigned, Logan and I ended up being selected as the lead actor and actress. Logan made sure to tell the group leader that “we want the kissing scene” in the play. We now look back and laugh at that pickup line, but I guess it worked!

How did he propose? He proposed on a New York City rooftop with the beautiful skyline in the background! We have a friend who lives in a five-story walk-up in the heart of New York City, so we went to visit her and her boyfriend for a weekend trip. On Friday, October 13th, we met at our friend’s place prior to going out for dinner. Her place has a gorgeous view of the city, so it was obvious that we would go to the rooftop of her building for some pictures (after all, I had never been to New York so I was snapping photos left and right). Little did I know, when we walked up to the rooftop, Logan had candles and lights set up and was getting ready to propose. It was such a beautiful, scenic, and romantic proposal. Of course, I said “YES!”

What is your overall vision for your wedding? We were set on a city theme for our wedding, but I also really wanted a sense of southern charm and classic elegance. The Wimbish House is the perfect combination of both of those! We truly hope that our guests feel a cozy and intimate setting when they walk into this beautiful mansion.

Which wedding details are you most excited about and why? I am most excited about Logan seeing me in my wedding dress for the first time. I can’t wait to see his reaction, as this is something I have truly been looking forward to! Logan is most excited about cake, the coffee bar, and dancing the night away with our closest friends and family!

What has been the most difficult and most fun part of wedding planning? We still have a lot of planning to do, but the most difficult part so far has been finding the perfect wedding venue. We went on several venue tours before choosing The Wimbish House. The most fun part for me has been wedding dress shopping to find my dream dress! The next fun part we are looking forward to is the cake tasting!

Tell us about your vendor search. In our photographer search, we were looking for someone who could make us feel comfortable in front of the camera so that our true personalities shine through in our photos. I was also looking for a photographer who captures a good mixture of portrait and candid style photos. I met Bre of Bre Sessions Photography at the Bridal Extravaganza of Atlanta. My mom and I instantly connected with Bre because of her genuine and kind personality. Bridal shows are sometimes overwhelming, but she was patient and answered so many of our questions during the hustle and bustle of the show. Bre followed up with us after the bridal show and I met her for coffee. Our personalities mesh so well, and I was very impressed with Bre’s professionalism, her portfolio, and her patience through all of my questions. We have since had our engagement session with Bre which went wonderfully! We are so pleased with our photos and we are confident that Bre will capture our wedding day beautifully so that we have timeless wedding photos that our children and grandchildren can look back on.

Bre Sessions is an Atlanta based wedding photographer. Bre is a relationship photographer. Her goal to shoot from the perspective of a best friend or family member, because who better than someone who knows you intimately, to capture all of the moments that mean the most to you, on one of the most important days of your life. Bre finds makes couples love stories unique and captures and preserves that to look back on and treasure for many years to come.
